Out of a job? Let's face it. Things are pretty rough. And landing a good job is getting tougher every day because so many "qualified" candidates are competing for it. How can you beat the competition given such stiff odds? You have the edge when you are clear on what you want and what you want fulfills what you sense is your purpose-sharing the gifts you were born to share.
Strategy 7: Know Your Unique Purpose. Less than five percent (5%) of those in the work force understand and contribute through their job or business the unique set of gifts and strengths that came with them at birth. We do what we've learned to do instead, even if we don't like doing it. Even less have plugged into their internal "white hot" energy source that flows from discovering and living their unique purpose. When I say "white hot", picture red hot coals and take it up a notch. I'm talking about the pure and focused flame that burns through steel. You have that "flame" in you and it's tied to your unique purpose.
So how do you discover your unique purpose? Be attuned to what really draws out the "fire" in you. Have you ever done something in a job that was so interesting it consumed all your attention and hours passed as if they were only minutes? Do you ever find yourself daydreaming about doing something you absolutely love but have dismissed as a waste of time because it just isn't practical? Have you ever talked about something that matters to you and received feedback from someone that you seem "on fire" or "glowing" or "passionate" as you talk about it?
Your heart and soul know your unique purpose. The task that lies before you is to bring to your conscious mind what you already know deeply in your core. You get closer to clarity on your unique purpose as you pay attention to when you "light up." Spend time daily reflecting back on your life and being totally open to whatever memories surface that reveal that sense of being plugged into that "white hot" energy source. Little by little that unique purpose will start to reveal itself.
When you discover your unique purpose and tap into the incredible passion, enthusiasm, boldness, and creativity that comes with the "white hot" purpose, you rise to another echelon. You embody what people want to have. You exude confidence, passion and even charisma. People want to bottle what you have. When you are "on fire" with passion about the job opportunity because it clearly fulfills your unique purpose, your energy will clearly stand out and make it all but certain you get the job.
