The much awaited HTC HD7 has finally made its way into the market, but with a twist to the expectations of all. Most of the gadget freaks were waiting to see something that is a fusion of HD2 shell and technology, powered with the Windows Seven OS. Sadly, for tech-lovers and journalists who were eagerly awaiting and eyeing the activities of the company to crack the news of the release of HD7, the frame of it was not even remotely similar to the earlier HD2.
As it made its way to the table, it was revealed that the shell of the latest model is hardly similar to the last one, and the makers seem to have badly and purportedly ditched it. Though, this was indeed a setback, we were somehow perked up a bit, by the features the phone has to offer. Irrespective of the external beauty, the phone exhibits a wide, crisp and highly responsive 4.3 inches touch screen display. The casing for such a high-end work of technology seems a little cheap, for that matter, but the additional handy stand can be folded and used for watching movies.
HTC HD7 flaunts a 5 Megapixel camera, with a dual LED flash and an autofocus for clearer capture. With high definition picture quality, the phone is good for video watching and gaming by folding the kickstand. The phone was expected to have an 8 Megapixel camera, with a secondary camera. Instead, a 5 megapixel one, with no secondary camera, can be treated as a real shortcoming of the handset.
With a large body, the phone can be hard to handle for those with smaller hands. Keeping this in mind, and its look, the phone is best suited in the hands of men. However, HD7 supports both EDGE and GPRS Class-12. Though the internal memory of the phone is not up to the mark, which is only 16GB (optional), the handset will be able to hold quite some music and video files.
The best feature is the apps store of Xbox LIVE, from where, you can download all sorts of games, and can even try them out before downloading. For game enthusiasts over the world, this handset will be quite appealing due to its high quality graphics and smooth playing, aided by 1 GHz processor. You can catch all the magic of fast action in the wide screen of the handset. It does not support Infrared, which again adds to the list of shortcomings.
