If you are looking at internet marketing strategies and creating your own product and you want to generate a lot of traffic, you have to start before the product is ready to launch. You don't have to have your own list, you don't have to be a big guru to make this work...and it can work in any niche...but to maximize the strategy--for the best traffic and list building success--you are going to want to start in the pre-launch stage of a product launch.
Look, everybody, in every niche, starts off as a nobody-so that's no excuse! Maybe you know somebody in your niche...or maybe that is one of the things you have to do, get to know them...but to the general public-you are nobody. So how do you get to be a somebody? How do you grow your list before your product is even ready for launch?
The first step is in the pre-launch phase. In the very beginning you start getting the word out that you are thinking about creating this product X. Use your blog and videos as a way to get the word out. YouTube is one fantastic site for this...and you can use your video to drive viewers to your blog.
Once they are on your blog, you can give them more information and invite them to comment. Maybe you say something like, "Hey, I think this is a great idea...it seems like people could really use it...I'm working on it, let me know what you think"...of course you provide a little more information than just that, but you get the idea.
Now you have people commenting on your blog...that makes it an interactive conversation. That is something the search engines love. And if you have an opt-in on your blog you will start building your list right away...before your product is done-maybe before it is even started!
Then you keep updating the blog and making new videos about the progress you are making...the comments you have gotten. Maybe you make a big announcement, "Yep, I'm going to do this...I've gotten some great suggestions...I'm working on it and I'll let you know when it is ready."
You can do another installment that lets people know you are wrapping it up...you are just about ready to release. All the while you are getting people viewing your page, opting in to your list and you are emailing them updates.
The key to successfully using this pre-launch strategy is to get people excited about what you are doing-getting them to interact with you on the blog. You want them to post comments. And you want other people to post comments to their comments. And you want people to be talking about your blog on their blog, or on forums...out there in your community.
By creating this pre-launch community it actually kind of takes on a life of its own and generates even more traffic.
So you see, that even as a nobody if you use these internet marketing strategies...take the energy of a product launch-BEFORE it is launched...you can generate buzz, build your list and get people really excited so they are spreading the word for you and you are ready to capitalize on it when you are ready to launch.
