Branding is more than a product or a simple logo. Branding is the emotional impression you leave on people. It's not the business they trust or are looking for, it's the person behind the business, A Leader. People are looking for a solution and need to trust someone to give that to them. You need to have a sound marketing strategy. One that will have a positive lasting impression on people. People will buy first on emotion and then back it up with their head. Just like on the late night t.v. infomercials. They have a phone number right in front of you, so you will dial and buy, buy, buy right now!
Branding is about individuality, you need to stand out from the others, you need to project your personality. Who you are! What you stand for! Even if your new to the business your in right now, you had to of had some experience in your life. That's what counts. What have you done in your life, what do you have to offer. Everyone has knowledge in something, portray that in your words. Branding means starting with your values and beliefs, projecting these into everything you do, and going forward from there.
Two things to ask yourself about your branding.
1. What is my Brand? Think of something you love to do. It could be skiing, hiking, fishing or just reading a really good book. Whatever it is that is interesting to you could be your brand.
2. Is it working for me? If the brand you picked is not getting any response, then think of something else. There is a wide variety of people out there, you will find some that have the same interests as you.
And the most important part of branding is just "Be Yourself"! No one likes a phony. Just be yourself, that is how people will trust you, and that is what will make you a leader.
